TRENDY or timeless, we’ve got your wedding day look planned out.

THE perfect venue. Check. Dream photographer. Check. Breathtaking décor. Check. When some of the major decisions have been made, you’re probably ready to start planning exactly how you will look on, no doubt one of the most special days of your life. Your wedding day only comes around once (fingers crossed) and there’s no room for error: you have to look your most beautiful. Our wedding make-up, gown and hair trends and tips will help you to create a bridal style that’s totally current, but uniquely your own. Radiating bridal beauty is closer than you think. PS Don’t forget to choose the perfect scent to go with your look too!

Dramatic Damsel

DEEP mauves and rusts are natural in feel, but also bring a bit of edge to wedding day make-up. There’s nothing that defines features more than tones that catch the light! If you’re not normally one to don metallics, it’s easy to tone the shades down by combining metals with matte – they’ll look even more fresh beneath your veil that way. Matching your metals with a glossy, deep coloured, dramatic lip will pump up the glam even more.

Crystal Noir Eau De Toilette (30ml): R870, Versace, Pure Finish Mineral Bronzing Powder: R505, Elizabeth Arden, Cosmic Metals Lip Cream In Galactic Love: R77, NYX and Magnif’eyes Eyeshadow Palette In Spice: R219.95, Rimmel

Hair She Comes

GETTING Classic Hollywood waves just right is no easy task. Hairstylist extraordinaire, Sholene Rambharuth from Hairology Studio recommends creating the coveted curls by using sections of the same width and curling all the pieces in the same direction. ‘Keeping hair extremely neat is key here,’ she says. She also recommends backcombing for volume and then gently brushing the curls out.

Maxime Eau De Parfum (50ml): R339, Avon, Kálice Oil Travel Size (8ml): R130, INOAR, System Professional Luxeoil Keratin Protection Spray (75ml): R465, Wella Professional and Oracle Hair Styler: Price On Request, ghd

TIP: WHEN using a flatiron, wand or curling tong, don’t overuse product. Less product will ensure a sleeker style, and will allow hair to be ‘moulded’ as desired.

Glowing Up

OPTING for glowing, flawless skin, soft and subtle eyeshadow, and a nude lip paired with easy waves and defined brows is a fast-pass to making sure you walk down the aisle as the best version of yourself. If you need a little bit more, overline your lips with a colour that perfectly matches your tone of lipstick, add some falsies and define eyes with a subtle flick and you’re ready to say ‘I Do’.

MYNY Eau De Parfum (30ml): R825, DKNY, Brighten Up Beauty Serum (30ml): R480, Luma, Always Sharp Lip Liner In Nude Fair: R335, Smashbox And Dipbrow Gel: R490, By Anastasia Beverly Hills, Muse Beauty

TIP: Match your lipstick to the shade inside of your lip. This is a foolproof way to maximize your pout, without investing in pre-wedding lip filler.

Look Of Love

BECAUSE beauty means being comfortable in your own skin, we are totally for the natural hair movement that, thanks to inspirational women, like Zozibini Tunzi, is being seen more and more. Whether your natural look includes braids, longer length spirals, short and glossy curls or knots, we recommend sticking to YOU when planning your wedding day look. If you’re known for your afro, rock that for your wedding and build the rest of your look around it. Here, our model’s features are highlighted thanks to her super short cut.

Boss The Scent Intense For Her Eau De Parfum (50ml): R1 485, Hugo Boss, Afro Vegan Curl Activator (300ml): R425, INOAR,  Scalp Care Calming Scalp Lotion: R185, Mizani And Awapuhi MirrorSmooth High Gloss Primer (100ml): R415, Paul Mitchell
